    AniW Hangout at Amos's House

Post by Gestaltgeek on Thu Dec 10, 2009 5:52 pm

Anyone interested in coming over to my house next week? Just to hang out as a club that sort of thing. We used to do that with the senior AniW batches, just go over to somebody's house, watch some anime, play some console games (xbox, PS3 or wii if anyone willing to sponsor), share stuff, maybe marathon a particular series (Evangelion was suggested the last time)

For me most days are fine, since I have mostly nothing to do. But which days are good for you all?

    Tentative Details->

    Date: 15/12 Tuesday
Meeting: 12am @ Yio Chu Kang MRT

    Attending:
    - gestaltgeek
    - mazatsushi
    - Stifler(?)
    - Kamikazer (?)
    - chibi-chan
    - Kageshiro
    - chronorec
    - Joanhong

I agree with Dennis. We wouldn't want to see any obscene things such as molesting and etc.

Next week, mon and thurs not free.

So....Probable choices so far are Tuesday and Wednesday.

Speaking of which, I have IHG on Monday, so I can't make it then. Might also have IHG on Tuesday, so Wednesday for me.

I live in the maze that is Seletar Hill, not too far from Jalan Kayu. The Bus services near my house include bus 70, 86, 854 and 163. If you need more detailed address details, drop me an e-mail. Otherwise I'll bring you all in on the day itself (From YCK @ 12 noon, not 12am whoops!).

As mentioned earlier, alongside general gaming and hanging around, we can also have the option of marathoning Evangelion or watching this season's anime. Or how about we do a lookback at this past decade's best anime instead? Most of the anime blogosphere seems to think that 2000-2009 constitutes this decade, and since it is drawing to an end, why not decide within our club what are some of the greatest anime to come out of it.

Basically, what we can do is each of us suggests up to a maximum of 2 anime from this decade that they consider to be the best, and we can watch one episode from each series. Naturally, you all will have to bring our *ahem* "libraries" so we can screen and share among our selves. What do you all think

20+ animes a season...4 seasons a year...80+ animes a year...800+ animes a decade...how the hell are we suppose to choose 2 animes from that D= and eva counts as last decade's anime...sinces its pre-y2k... oh btw "armed librarians: Book of bantora" is an interesting this season's anime of sorts...at least the 1st arc that i watched...how they deal with "time"...

Choose your own personal favourites from the decade out of anime you have watched. I'm sure there must be at least one or two which to you stands head and shoulders over the others. Yeah I know Eva is a 1995 anime, which is why I'm asking, either we marathon eva, watch this season's anime, or watch our personal bests from the 00s.

Or we can just play BlazBlue till the Geek's XBOX dies. Either way's fine. I already know what series i'm going to bring anyway.

    This decade's best anime.

    1. Code Geass 1st and 2nd season.
    2. Lucky Star

=_=;; i won't say lucky star was the best exactly...its more for light watching...i got this friend who watched it like 8 times...and i still remember more of it than he does =_=;; gag animes sort of start to get boring once u know the punch line...are there any unique mixed genres that will be interesting...

hmmm not sure if zetsubo sensei appeals to u if u like lucky star...or this season's seitokai no ichizon, or can i suggest watching the whole series of genshiken? (thought that might be a bit boring for some...) its not epic enough on its own...

the eva original series is a bit slow paced on its own...if we plan to finish watching it all...anyone got a fast paced 13 ep series in mind?

Oooo. I like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Especially the intro character part. It's a good anime. But I don't have it in my collection.

    sayonara zetsubo sensei (1st season)
zoku sayonara zetsubo sensei (2nd season)
goku sayonara zetsubo sensei (3 ep OVA)
zan sayonara zetsubo sensei (3rd season currently airing)

then we can zetsuboushita!!! together...so depressing XD

think 1 day is long enough for us to download a season (off veoh direct download) or torrent?
